Make Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB (Lucid Lynx)


It is possible for a beginner like me who want to learn bit about how to create bootable live usb linux ubuntu

If Your laptop or PC does not have a CD-ROM drive but can boot via USB Flash Drive, You can create a LiveUSB from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS desktop.


Following the creation of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB :
  • This step is assumed to be done from a PC that has been installed/Ubuntu 10.04 desktop can run LTS. If doing this directly from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveCD, skip on stage have the iso file of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
  • Prepare your USB Flash Drive with the FAT32 filesystem and already in the properly formatted condition.
  • From the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS desktop LiveCD, run application USB Startup Disk Creator, from the menu System | Administration | USB Startup Disk Creator.

  • From the main page Make USB Startup Disk, be sure there is a source disc image (. iso) or CD, and USB Flash Drives to be used for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB. After that, click the Make Startup Disk to start the creation of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB.
  • Process of setting up Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB would soon take place. Wait a while until the process of setting up Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB is finished.


Once completed, reboot your PC, and do the initial boot from a USB Flash Drive. You can now use Ubuntu 10.04 LTS LiveUSB is to perform the installation, rescue disk, or simply making such as USB portable Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
